La Fontaine Froide au Creux du Van
Located at the foot of the Creux du Van, near the Ferme Robert, the Fontaine Froide is one of the iconic landmarks of the Pays de l’Absinthe. This natural spring flows at a constant temperature of around 4°C throughout the year, even during the summer months.
Long before absinthe was legalised again, the water of the Fontaine Froide was already renowned in the region for the traditional preparation of the Green Fairy. Its freshness and purity made it closely associated with absinthe tasting rituals and the absinthe culture of the Val-de-Travers.
Located along one of the most popular routes leading to the Creux du Van, the Fontaine Froide is now an essential stop for visitors wishing to discover both the spectacular landscapes of the Neuchâtel Jura and the history of absinthe in its birthplace.
Style: Natural heritage and absinthe culture.
