Distillerie Les Fils d’Emile Pernot
Located in La Cluse-et-Mijoux, the former Pernot Distillery holds a special place in the recent history of French absinthe. Its name echoes one of the families that contributed to the reputation of absinthe in the Haut-Doubs and helped spread the fame of the Green Fairy far beyond the region.
For several decades, the distillery played a role in preserving the tradition of aniseed spirits and absinthe in a territory closely linked to the history of this emblematic beverage. It also reflects the revival of absinthe following its re-legalisation and the determination to preserve a know-how deeply rooted in the Pays de l’Absinthe.
Although the site is not currently open to visitors, it remains a landmark of contemporary absinthe heritage and a reminder of the region’s enduring connection to the art of distillation.
